The remains of the late Dr. Judah L. Magnes, American educator and rabbi, who served as the first president of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, will be transferred to Israel for refinement on Thursday, it was disclosed today by Daniel G. Ross, president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University. The organization will sponsor a memorial meeting here in tribute to the American leader on Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Magnes died in New York City on Oct. 27, 1948, at the age of 71.
