The U. S. Remington Company is liquidating its branches in Germany in company with many other foreign firms doing business there because of the difficulty in securing foreign exchange for imports, the News Chronicle reported.

There is a growing disillusionment in Germany, the paper reported from Berlin, pointing out that revelations of the moral corruption of brown army leaders had shocked hundreds of thousands. Middle-class families, it reported, are withdrawing their sons and daughters from Hitler youth organizations.

Nearly everyone in Germany now admits that the outlook for the future is not rosy, while a good many people are convinced that the Hitler regime will not be able to survive its difficulties through the winter, the Berlin correspondent of the London Morning Post declared, after talks with scores of people who, in the last elections, had voted for the Nazis, but now express themselves “sick of the whole gang.”
