The removal of Dr. Friedrich Ried, German consul at Porto Alegre, Brazil, who was recently transferred to the German Consulate here, was urged by the New York Post in an editorial today.
Pointing out that Dr. Ried was shifted after the Brazilian Government had complained of his undue pro-Nazi activities, the Post stated it should be a primary rule of Pan-American unity that a diplomat who was unacceptable to any one of the 21 nations be unacceptable to all.
The Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League urged an investigation of Dr. Ried in a wire to the State Department yesterday.
