The Foreign Office refuses either to confirm or deny a report circulated abroad that Dr. Hans Luther, German Ambassador to the United States, will be recalled to Berlin. A Foreign Office spokesman declared yesterday that he heard the report for the first time.
In diplomatic circles, however, Luther’s recall is considered possible as the German Government is believed to be dissatisfied with his “achievements” as a diplomat in the United States and also with his failure to unite the Germans in America for the Nazi cause.
