The London Daily Herald reported today that a mass trial of Jews was scheduled for Friday in Wuppertal province, industrial center of western Germany.
According to the Herald, the trial is designed by the Nazi authorities to prove to discontented Wuppertal workers that the Jews are responsible for their growing poverty. It is hoped thereby, the paper declared, to divert the discontent of the population into anti-Semitic channels.
The Herald said six of the Jews are now in a hospital, as a result of brutal beatings at the hands of the Gestapo, secret State police, during their examination.
