In parliament several days ago, the Jewish Socialist deputy, Pistiner, introduced an interpellation to the government concerning the statement made in Czernowitz recently by Baron Miro, general police inspector, who told the Bukowina police authorities to dismiss from service, “Jews, Germans and other officials belonging to the minorities.” Deputy Pistiner asked the government whether the secret order to the same effect issued by the former Minister of the Interior, Octavian Goga, is still in force. The Understate Secretary, Joan Itzescu, replied that he knows nothing about the Goga order and that the government will institute an investigation concerning the Bukowina affair.
