Joseph J. Sisco, Assistant secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, was reported to have flown to the Western White House in San Clemente, Calif. today to confer with President Nixon and the National Security Council on the status of negotiation in the Middle East and Israel’s arms requests. Informed sources said Sisco is expected to leave for Israel by the end of next week. They said departure might follow a possible meeting of the UN Security Council on the status of Jerusalem. Such a meeting has been “in the air” but has not been requested by any party.
