Reports in this country that he is anti-Semitic and once had been the instigator of pogroms in Poland were denied by General Joseph Haller of Poland in a statement in Minneapolis, according to reports reaching here. The statement was issued at the luncheon given by the Army and Navy Club in honor of the Polish General, who came to the United States as the guest of the American Legion.
After declaring the reports “a wilful and malicious falsehood”, General Haller continued.
“To the best of knowledge nobody would be inspired to such animosity against me personally. Therefore the enemy must be an enemy of Poland or of the American Legion”.
