Representatives of the local or European offices of the American Jewish Committee, World Jewish Congress and Joint Distribution Committee officials of the Vienna Jewish Community and other local Jewish organizations met here to work out a program of activity on restitution to coordinate with the programs major American Jewish groups in this field. The parley vas called by Harry Greenstein, advisor on Jewish affairs to the American high command in Europe.
Prior to the session, Mr. Greenstein met with leaders of the Vienna Community for the purpose of reviewing local Jewish problems and the current situation of the News of this city. The local leaders expressed disappointment in the lack of progress made by the Austrian authorities in the direction of restitution, and agreed on the made for active implementation of restitution laws which, have already been passed, but have not been put into effect.
