Republican leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives agreed to lift food and medicine sanctions against Iran as part of a deal that loosens the U.S. embargo on Cuba and other countries. Jewish groups are opposed to any further easing of sanctions on Iran because of the country’s support of terrorism and its trial of 13 Iranian Jews accused of espionage.
