The question of British protection for Palestinians abroad will again be raised with the High Commissioner, Lord Plumer, as soon as he returns from his vacation, by Musa Kazim Pasha, the president of the Palestine Arab Executive, it was stated. Musa Kazim Pasha will ask Lord Plumer to afford protection to all Arab emigrants from Palestine resident in various countries and also to prolong the period in which such emigrants may apply for naturalization as Palestinian citizens.
When the question was raised before the Acting-Chief Secretary, Mr. Mills, by a deputation of Bethlehem Arabs, Mr. Mills replied that Arab emigrants from Palestine abroad must make ordinary application for Palestinian nationality before the British representatives abroad are able to take them under their charge. Before acquiring Palestinian nationality the emigrants are regarded as Ottomans and must apply to the Turkish consular officers.
