Representative Samuel Dickstein of New York today introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives calling for an immediate investigation by the Secretary of State into reported “massacres or threatened death” of Jews in Poland.
The demand for the investigation, the Congressman said, is based on a confidential ten-page report which has received from Poland from an American army officer in the Intelligence branch, who is in Poland on an official mission.
Dickstein charged in his resolution that Polish Jewish citizens who recently returned to Poland from American or Allied camps for displaced persons “have become the object of vicious and unprovoked maltreatment and in many cases have been massacred or threatened with death.”
