Preliminary work, inluding solicitation for “initial gifts,” was started today on a state-wide basis for the membership and support campaign in behalf of he Jewish opens formally April 30 but most of the actual work is expected to be accomplished between now and that time.
Upon the outcome of the campaign will depend the fate of the home, a beautiful new buiding with every facility for care of the inmates opned less than two years ago on Hillside avenue, in the heart ofthe city’s residential section.
Taking active part in the drive are Supreme Court Justice J. Jerome Hahn; Superior Court Judge Philip C. Joslin, Max L. Grant, president of Miriam Hospital; Bernard M. Gldowsky, Zionist leader; Dr. Ilie Berger, president of the Zionist District of Rhode Island, and District Court Judge Max Levy of Newport.
