The sub-committee named by the Israeli and Transjordan armistice negotiators to study the question of reducing the armed forces of both sides today prepared a draft proposal which will be submitted to the military commands of both sides for approval.

Bargaining discussions for the prospective armistice agreement are scheduled to begin Monday, by which time replies to the sub-committee’s draft for the reduction of armed forces will have been received from the Israeli and Trans Jordan high commands.
At Late Success, U.N. Secretary-General Trygv Lie announced that Syria had accepted an invitation for armistice talks with Israel. He added he had just received a cable from acting mediator Dr. Ralph J. Bunche, confirming Syria’s acceptance.
