The sub-committee named by the Israeli and Transjordan armistice negotiators to study the question of reducing the armed forces of both sides today prepared a draft proposal which will be submitted to the military commands of both sides for approval.

All points of difference were also listed and the Jews and Arabs have a completely clear picture of the situation. Bargaining discussions for the prospective armistice agreement are scheduled to begin Monday, by which time replies to the sub-committee’s draft for the reduction of armed forces will have been received from the Israeli and Trans Jordan high commands.

At Late Success, U.N. Secretary-General Trygv Lie announced that Syria had accepted an invitation for armistice talks with Israel. He added he had just received a cable from acting mediator Dr. Ralph J. Bunche, confirming Syria’s acceptance.
