Abraham A. Ribicoff, Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, one of the two Jews on President Kennedy’s Cabinet, was expected to announce his resignation tonight.
He is scheduled to make his resignation announcement, which it is understood he had already submitted to President Kennedy, and to announce his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Senator from Connecticut, his home state. As the Democratic nominee, he would run for the post now held by Sen. Prescott Bush, a Republican.
