The Riga municipality declined today to open a bureau for collecting signatures for the proposed anti-Jewish referendum.

The Riga Nazis had proposed that all Jews be deprived of their citizenship rights; that no licenses be issued to Jewish merchants, and that there be a prohibition of all marriages between Jews and Christians. The Latvian Nazis also wanted to prohibit the treatment of Jewish patients by non-Jewish doctors.
