Funeral services for Richard Aaron Guinzburg, retired manufacturer of paper boxes, who died Monday of a heart ailment at his home, 156 West Eighty-sixth street, after a ten-week illness, will be held at 10 o’clock this morning at the Riverside Memorial Chapel, Amsterdam avenue and Seventy-sixth street. Dr. Jonah B. Wise, rabbi of the Central Synagogue, will officiate.
Mr. Guinzburg was a brother of the late Colonel Henry A. Guinzburg, philanthropist, merchant and treasurer of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, who died in 1928.
BORN IN BALTIMORE
Born seventy-two years ago in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Rev. Dr. Aaron Guinzburg and of Caroline Kuh Guinzburg. His father was a noted rabbi and writer, who came to this country in 1848 from Austria after the collapse of the revolution there, in which he had taken an active part.
About thirty-two years ago, Mr. Guinzburg founded the Gem Paper Box Company, Inc., in Long Island City. He was president of the company until he retired two years ago. He was a member of Congregation Emanu-El.
Two sisters, Miss Lillie Guinzburg, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Clara G. Pollitzer of Charleston, S. C., survive. Burial will be in the Central Synagogue Cemetery, Linden Hill, Queens.
