M. Robinson, member of the executive committee of the Ozet, society for settling Jews on the land, which is sponsoring the Bureya colonization project, was arrested yesterday by the Soviet authorities.
Robinson’s arrest caused considerable surprise in Moscow Jewish circles as it was effected one day before his scheduled departure for Bureya as a member of a special commission to supervise the inauguration of the settlement work. Prof. Bruck and Merezhin are the other members of the commission. Mr. Robinson was substituted by A. Raschkes, a Communist. The commission has departed for Bureya.
