Robert P. Silverstein, city solicitor of Scranton, died suddenly yesterday morning in his home here of a heart attack. The entire community was deeply shocked at the news of the death of Mr. Silverstein, who depsite the fact that he had just passed his fortieth birthday, had been a prominent figure in the political and public life of the country for nearly twenty years.
Mr. Silverstein had served in a mayor’s cabinet in three city administrations and for four years was assistant district attorney of Lackawanna country. He was a member of the Reformed Temple and a director of the Y. M. H. A. since its inception. All city offices were closed and members of the administration will attend his funeral in a body.
