Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller of New York has proclaimed November as “B’nai B’rith Membership Month” in tribute to the 125th anniversary of B’nai B’rith, the world’s oldest and largest Jewish service organization. “B’nai B’rith has served our beloved land selflessly and with significant achievements in war and peace and its sons and daughters have brought honor to our country and have given comfort and sustenance to many people overseas who are less fortunate than ourselves,” the Governor’s proclamation said. It noted that “In commemoration of this special anniversary in the history of B’nai B’rith, the organization has embarked on a nationwide 125th anniversary membership campaign to increase its more than 500,000 members.
