The Virginia State Corporation Commission ordered a hearing on September 4 on the charter application of George Rockwell, self-styled American Nazi and leader of the American Nazi Party.
Rockwell applied for a charter for “A.N.P., Inc.” after the Virginia General Assembly approved a measure banning use of the name American Nazi Party. Rockwell sought to get around the ban with a bid for a charter for a group with the initials of his party. The commission will have to decide whether use of the name A.N.P. is banned by the new law.
