The Jewish labor movement has been a pioneer in promoting the concept that political activity is essential for unionists so that the worker and all American citizens can effectively participate in democratic government operation, it was stated here yesterday by Dr. David J. Saposs, special assistant to the United States Commissioner of Labor. Dr. Saposs spoke at an all-day meeting of the Editorial Advisory Council of the Yiddish Scientific Institute at which plans were discussed for the YIVO’s publication of a “History of the Jewish Labor Movement in the United States.”
