Regret at leaving his “beloved Palestine” was expressed by Sir Ronald Storrs, former governor of Jerusalem, at a farewell reception given in his honor here. Reviewing the history of his administration, Governor Storrs declared that he endeavored to establish an equilibrium between Jews and Arabs in Palestine. The task of the administration will therefore be easier now, he said.

Louis Bamberger, philanthropist of Newark, N. J., contributed $25,000, the largest single gift so far, to the Community Chest campaigns being conducted in the metropolitan suburbs, according to an announcement of the American Association for Community Organizations.
