Rosalsky Issues New Call As $2,500,000 U.p.a. in Greater N. Y. Reaches $1,000,000 Mark

Judge Otto A. Rosalsky, chairman of the United Palestine Appeal for Greater New York, has issued a call, following the announcement that $1,000,000 has already been raised urging that the work for Palestine be carried forward until the quota of $2,500,000 is obtained. Judge Rosalsky’s call read:

“The campaign for the United Palestine Appeal in the greater City of New York has already resulted in the first million dollars. This achievement compares favorably with the record of previous campaigns and bears evidence of the ever increasing understanding by the greatest Jewish community in the world of the significance of Palestine to world Jewry and particularly that portion of it which finds in Palestine not only spiritual promise but promise of the solution for their pressing problems of material existence.

“At this point in our effort, I turn again, as chairman of the Campaign, to my fellow-Jews of New York, and particularly to the workers who are bringing the message to their fellows, not to slacken in their efforts, but to carry the work forward until the total of $2,500,000 shall be obtained for our great cause from the Jews of New York.

“Palestine is at this moment beset with urgent needs, the needs of preserving intact the gains that have been made and of extending them in constructive enterprises along every line, agricultural, industrial, land purchase, sanitation, etc. It is only necessary for every Jew to visualize the Palestine of today and all that Palestine may be for the Jewry of the world to rouse him to deeds of devotion and generosity.

“Let us carry forward the responsibility we have assumed until we have completely discharged it.”

Louis Marshall, president of the American Jewish Committee, will be the guest of honor at a dinner given by the United Palestine Appeal Committee for the Rockaways. The Dinner will be held Sunday evening, March 13th, at the Center Building of the Shaaray Tcfila, Central Avenue, Far Rockaway.

This is the first public appearance of Louis Marshall at a Palestine function since the formal consummation of the Jewish Agency Agreement between Mr. Marshall and Dr. Chaim Weizmann.

Benjamin Titman of Lawrence, is chairman of the Dinner Committee, Mrs. Louis J. Scheinman. vice-chairman; Oscar Herrmann, secretary. John L. Leibowitz is the chairman of the United Palestine Appeal for the Rockaways.

Madam Suzanne Grinberg, one of the first women admitted to the bar in France, addressed the New York Bar Association on Thursday. Her subject was the French courts. Madam Grinberg is an advocate before the Court of Appeals in Paris and member of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Advocates of France.
