The National Gallery of Arts and the Library of Congress today announced that the Lessing J. Rosenwald collection of prints, drawings, manuscripts and rare books has been given to the nation. The collection includes woodcuts and engravings by 15th century printmakers, 230 etchings by Rembrandt, 367 prints by Whistler and many illustrated books from famous early presses in Germany, Italy, France and the Lowlands.
