Rossini’s four – act opera, “Moses,” which Alfredo Salmaggi is presenting for the first time in the United States at the New York Coliseum July 14 and 15, will be sung entirely in Italian. That the story may be followed by the audience, the first English translation has now been completed and will be made available for the first time at these performances.
Mr. Salmaggi, who made an appeal for volunteers to act in the crowd scene of “Moses,” states he has received a large number of applications, but there is still room for more volunteers. “We shall welcome amateurs who have had some experience in local societies and especially those who appeared in the pageant last year, ‘Romance of the People.'”
