In recognition of his demands for the rights and liberties of labor both here and abroad, William Green, president of the American Federation of Labor, will be tendered a testimonial dinner by 1,000 outstanding leaders in politecal, business, professional and religious life on Wednesday evening, February 14, at the Hotel Roosevelt.
The announcement was made by James W. Gerard, former United States ambassador to Germany, who is chairman of the commitee.
Mayor F. H. LaGuardia, Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver of Cleveland and Abe Cahan, editor of the Jewish Daily Forward, will be principal speakers at the dinner sponsored by the No-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League to Champion Human Rights.
The dinner will be given as a tribute to Mr. Green in demonstation of Jewry’s appreciation for his fight against Nazi oppression, and of his support of the anti-Hitler boycott.
