Winding up the work of the local Committee for German Jewish Fugitives, Leo L. Akker, treasurer, reported that more than 45,000 Dutch guilder (about $30,000) were expended on behalf of the refugees.
In this city, 900 individuals were taken care of by the committee, Mr. Akker disclosed. The majority of these, he said, emigrated to South America and Palestine. About 150 still reside in Rotterdam and are provided for by the Montefiore Shelter Organization.
