A warning that the anti-Semitic agitation among the peasants of such nationalistic organizations as the Iron Guard and the Archangel League may also lead to anarchy throughout the country as well as to the spread of Communism among the dissatisfied peasants who are now in a bad economic condition was given to King Carol today by Victor Cadere, chief of the Roumanian police, who has just returned from an extensive tour of investigation in the regions affected by the anti-Semitic propaganda.
M. Cadere, who was sent by the King to probe the causes and effects of the attacks on the Jews, in his detailed report informed the King that the Iron Guard and other extreme right organizations must be held fully responsible for the anti-Semitic agitation they are conducting among the peasants.
The chief of the secret police urged that the strictest measures be taken to check the anti-Jewish outbreaks in the interests of keeping the country safe from anarchy. He recommended that even prominent political leaders who are stimulating the agitation be arrested.
