Measures Necessary as Opposition Parties Increase Campaign (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
The students of the University of Bucharest were warned against participating in any anti-Jewish attacks or disturbances of the peace, in official announcements placarded at the University. In unmistakable terms the authorities declare that those students who will be found guilty of participating in such attacks will be punished and the University will be closed.
The necessity for such measures was caused by the increasing anti-Semitic campaign which is being carried on by the opposition parties among the student body. The feeling is general that unless immediate action is taken to stop the inciting propaganda, anti-Semitic excesses may follow.
Leaders of the Jewish groups have addressed a petition to the government asking postponement of the Senate elections from the scheduled date which falls on Saturday.
