After several months of retirement from the theatrical and radio scene Roxy will return on September 15 as impresario of a variety show to be broadcast over fifty Columbia network stations. In addition to new talent which Rothafel has been collecting in the interim, the program will feature some of his erstwhile proteges, former members of his Roxy gang.
His reappearance will mark a sharp contrast to the first Roxy broadcast from the Capitol Theatre, when, by a generous estimate, an audience of 6,000 was reached. During the intervening thirteen years radio conditions have been advanced so that the second debut is expected to serve more than 65,000,000 listeners.
