The Rumanian Cabinet has decided to issue a statute extending citizenship to inhabitants of the provinces annexed after the World War, but declared that “Jewish inhabitants of those territories are excluded from the above provisions.”
Intended to simplify previous legislation regarding the status of inhabitants of the annexed territories, a single article is introduced stating that all such inhabitants become Rumanian citizens by annexation in compliance with the peace treaty and those not registered will be able to do so until Feb. 1, 1940.
