Rumania Confiscates More Winter Clothing from Jews for Troops in Russia

Rumanian military authorities faced with the problem of clothing their troops during the winter campaign on the Russian front have ordered all Jews in Rumania to surrender winter clothing, it is reported today in the Budapest daily Pester Lloyd. Most of the heavy clothing belonging to Jews was confiscated last winter by the army.

The pro-Nazi Sofia newspaper Zora, reaching here today, reports that twenty-nine Bulgarian Jews have been fined 1,000,000 levas, $12,000 at the pre-war rate of exchange, each for alleged ”Jewish crimes.”
