PREMIER OCTAVIAN GOGA ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT “THE GUIDING PRINCIPLE OF THE NEW GOVERNMENT IS RUMANIA FOR THE RUMANIANS, BASED ON JESUS CHRIST, THE KING AND THE NATION.”
THE NEWLY-INDUCTED CABINET WILL RESPECT THE CONSTITUTION, BEARING IN MIND, HOWEVER, THE SUPREME NATIONAL INTERESTS, THE PRO-FASCIST, ANTI-SEMITIC NATIONAL CHRISTIAN PARTY LEADER ASSERTED IN A FORMAL STATEMENT.
ANNOUNCING THAT HIS PROGRAM WAS VAST AND WOULD BE REVEALED SOON, PROF. GOGA APPEALED FOR UNITY AND REQUESTED THE COOPERATION “OF ALL CONSCIENTIOUS CITIZENS OF RUMANIA,” EMPHASIZING THAT THE APPEAL WAS ALSO DIRECTED TO “MINORITIES WHICH HONESTLY ADAPT THEMSELVES TO THE HISTORIC MISSION OF RUMANIA.”
PREMIER GOGA PREPARED TO CARRY OUT THE PROGRAM OF THE NATIONAL CHRISTIAN PARTY AFTER TAKING THE OATH OF OFFICE AS HEAD OF THE RUMANIAN GOVERNMENT. SWORN IN WITH HIS CABINET LAST NIGHT BY KING CAROL, HE SAID THAT WHILE FULFILLING THE NATIONAL CHRISTIAN PROGRAM, HE WOULD RESPECT CONSTITUTIONAL FORMS AND HIS GOVERNMENT WOULD BE BASED ON ORDER AND HONESTY.
KING CAROL, IN ADMINISTERING THE OATH TO THE MINISTERS, DECLARED:” I KNOW YOU WILL FULFILL THE PROGRAM WITH PRUDENCE AND WITHOUT HESITATION. I WISH YOU SUCCESS IN STRENGTHENING THE NATION AND FATHERLAND.”
