The Rumanian Government announced today it will cancel the citizenship and confiscate the property of Rumanians abroad whose activities are deemed harmful to “the interests of the Fatherland.”
The decree applies to nationals abroad “if their activities provoke disturbance of public order in Rumania or harm the interests of the Fatherland, or injure its prestige and reputation.” The loss of nationality will not apply to the wives and children of the persons involved.
