Proposals for ousting Jewish members, including front fighters and war wounded, from the Rumanian War Veterans League, were rejected at a plenary session of the organization, which met here today.
Dr. Virgil Serdaru, head of the war veterans, denounced the racial prejudice behind the proposal. Such a measure, he declared, “will infringe on equality and destroy the basis of our national and international war veterans organizations.”
Rejection of the proposal led to a clash in the meeting. The anti-Jewish faction, which attempted a demonstration when its plan was voted down, was driven from the hall by indignant veterans.
