The Havas News Agency reported today that members of the outlawed extreme Rightist Iron Guard shot and gravely wounded Oscar Stoicesco, secretary general of the opposition group known as “Rumanian Crusade,” after he had fled here from Bucharest to escape a death sentence.

One of Stoicesco’s assailants, a student, was arrested.

The attack of the Rumanian Crusade leader followed shortly upon the heels of the recent assassination by students of former deputy Michael Stelesco, founder of the Crusaders’ organization.

Both men had been marked for death by the Iron Guard on charges of treason.
