Rumanian Government Takes Steps to Make Restitution of Property Easier in Transylvania

Restitution of property to Jews in north Transylvania who lost their relatives either in Nazi extermination camps or slave ##or camps will be made easier through a bill which the Rumanian Ministry of Justice ##pleted today for submission to parliament.The bill recommends the recognition of claims of relatives who are applying ## the property of persons “deceased through exceptional circumstances” between June in 1941 and May 9, 1945. The courts hitherto required claimants to produce death certificates of their deceased relatives.

The Ministry of Education today ruled that persons who have taken short-term educational training courses in schools operated by the Rumanian ORT may now receive making papers, without which persons seeking employment cannot work. The ruling a handed down after an official of the Inspection department of the Trade Schools Rumania visited several ORT institutions.

The Minister of Agriculture has authorized the ORT to train 100 tractor mechanics. The students will receive three months training in the ORT school for mechanics and two months supplementary training on government farms. On presentation their diplomas, all graduates will be given working papers for two years by the sericulture Ministry.
