A deputation of Rumanian settlers met today with Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel Foreign Minister and pleaded for maximum efforts to effect re-union of families members of which were still in Rumania.
They cited many cases of mothers and fathers of recent arrivals’ in Israel remaining in Rumania as well as infants and teen-age children. They mentioned cases of separations which have lasted as long as nine years.
Mrs. Meir pledged the fullest assistance and expressed the hope that Rumania, which had formally cited humanitarian reasons for the recent Jewish departures from that country, would permit resumption of emigration soon.
