Eleven-thousand Rumanian Jews – the only Jews in all of Rumania who are permitted to work – face the loss of this privilege, it was reported here today, on the basis of an announcement in Bucharest that the entire system of “job privileges” will be revised on June 30.
It is feared by Jewish circles that the revision of the regulations may not only result in the privileged Jews being ousted from their positions, but may also result in their deportation from the country.
