Two Soviet artists–pianist Lev Vlasensko and violinist Mikhail Veinman–received a tremendous ovation here last night from an enthusiastic audience which filled the 3, 000-seat Mann Auditorium for a concert with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Foreign Minister Golda Meir, Knesset Speaker Kaddish Luz and other high Government officials were guests of Soviet Ambassador Mikhail Bodrov at the first in a series of performances by the Soviet artists.
At a reception after the concert, Mr. Vlasenko replied to greetings by Tel Aviv Mayor Mordechai Namir by speaking of the need for “shalom” (peace) between all nations. His remarks were translated from the Russian into Hebrew by Foreign Minister Meir.
