The communist candidate for Mayor William Weinstone of 28 Union Square was freed after a hearing on disorderly conduct charges growing out of the demonstration in front of the office of S. S. Young, Consul General for China.
Weinstone, national secretary of the Workers Party, was given a suspended sentence. Two of the twelve arrested Nathaniel Kaplan, 2070 Davidson Avenue, the Bronx, and Adolph Stern of 944 – 47th Street, Brooklyn, were sentenced to five days in the workhouse.
