The High Court of Palestine dismissed the appeal brought by Mr. Gleser, manager of the Arcos, Russian Trade Company, in Palestine, against the deportation order made out against him.
In a statement to the Palestine Telegraphic Agency, Mr. Gleser said that the Palestine Government had informed the Arcos that while it did not object to the continuation of the trade activities of the Arcos in Palestine, it did object to Mr. Gleser’s presence in Palestine because it suspected him of engaging in political propaganda activities.
Mr. Gleser declared that this allegation of political activity on his part was entirely unfounded. The Head Office of the Arcos, he added, had decided to close down its Palestine branches in Haifa, Jaffa and Jerusalem, as a protest against his deportation.
