Russian architecture students Alexander Tsimailo and Alexei IIyin recently won first prize in a synagogue design competition organized by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Moscow Jewish Art Center and Moscow Institute of Architecture.
The winners worked together on an architectural model for a synagogue. Their entry was one of 45 submitted by students at the Moscow Architecture Institute.
The JDC said the synagogue design competition was the first of its kind here in 75 years.
The winning entry and others will be displayed at JDC headquarters in New York and at its offices in Jerusalem.
