Russia’s foreign minister compared Iraq’s deployment in the Gulf War of missiles armed with VX nerve gas to Israel’s actions during the 1967 Six-Day War. Yevgeny Primakov said that Israel prepared between 12 and 16 nuclear weapons during the war, a charge that Israeli governments have denied. “That was considered normal,” Primakov told reporters in London. “If a country has certain weapons and tries to make them combat-ready, that is one thing. Use is another.”
