The Jewish population of the Saar has fallen 80 per cent since the territory was returned to Germany, the official organ of the Saar Jewish Community reported today.

Of 4,500 Jews residing here at the beginning of 1935, only 1,000 are left, the paper stated, adding that not a single Jewish wedding was held during all of 1936.
