An appeal against regulations adopted by the legislative assembly in the Saar regarding the application of the decree for restitution of property confiscated or looted under the Nazi regime was submitted today by the World Jewish Congress to the French Foreign Office. The appeal points out that the regulations announced by the Saar legislature would practically nullify the restitution law.
Information reaching the World Jewish Congress from Denmark said that Harald Christensen, editor of the Aero Volksblatt, and Jorgen Mathiesen, writer of an anti-Semitic article which appeared in the Volksblatt, were both found guilty of violating the Danish law against racial incitement by the Areskobing court. The men were given 60-day suspended sentences and had to pay the court costs.
