Chief Rabbi Lothar Rothschild, who had been reported arrested by the Nazi authorities in Saarbrucken, was released today, according to a report in the Swiss press here.
Rabbi Rothschild became Chief Rabbi of the Saar after the recent plebiscite which turned this region over to the Reich. He succeeded Chief Rabbi Ruelf, who proceeded to Palestine the day before the plebiscite.
