Among the 300,000 spectators expected at this year’s Salute to Israel Parade on May 14 will be many prominent Americans and Israelis. The guests of honor at the event, to take place on New York’s Fifth Avenue, include Yitzhak Rabin, Israel’s Ambassador to the US, Yosef Tekoah, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, and Consul General of Israel, Ambassador David Rivlin. The Parade is a project of the American Zionist Youth Foundation in cooperation with major Jewish organizations. Joining the Israelis in the reviewing stands will be numerous state and city officials who will join the metropolitan area residents viewing the expected 75,000 marchers, scores of floats and 40 marching bands from 10 states.
