Sam Gottschalk, 84, Belgian industrialist, and a prominent Jewish leader, died here yesterday. Mr. Gottschalk was at one time president of the Jewish community of Liege and later of the Jewish community in Antwerp. He was a member of the central committee of the Jewish Consistoire of Belgium for many years. The late King Albert conferred the order of the Knight of the Crown upon Mr. Gottschalk. He was the father of Max Gottschalk, who is president of the Hias-Ica Emigration Association and director of the Research Institute of the American Jewish Committee in New York.
